Michael is originally from Lake Jackson, Texas, a small town south of Houston. He took a couple years of piano lessons in 6th and 7th Grade, but as far as anyone knew, he couldn't hold a tune outside of the confines of the shower or the solitude of his car.
He graduated from Brazoswood High School, where he spent most of his spare time on the high school Drumline and playing drumset in the Jazz Ensemble. He then attended Texas Tech University from 2005-2009 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Psychology. He was on the Texas Tech Drumline for all four years of undergrad, serving as the Drum Captain for his junior and senior year.
Michael just graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in May of 2012. Yep, he's got a law degree. So ... uh ... now to making music! :)
Justin's musical career started when his mother made him take piano lessons at 10 years old. After years of pain and agony, music somehow turned into an uncontrollable passion. He has been playing drums since he was 12 years old, and auditioned for the drum line in Junior High School and has never looked back since. He picked up his first guitar when he was 13, inspired by his friends and Youth Ministers at church. After graduating Frenship High School, he attended Texas Tech University where he auditioned for the drumline. During the Fall of 2009 while on the Tenor Line, Justin was under the daunting command of Center Snare, Drum Capitan, and ... wait for it ... Michael Henry. Dun... Dun... Dun...
Justin graduated from South Plains College in May of 2012 with several degrees in Sound Technology and Audio Engineering. He's kindof a big deal.
How It All Started
During Michael's senior year of undergrad, Justin attended Texas Tech University for a year as a Music Performance Major. They first met on the Texas Tech Drumline, Michael the Drum Captain and Justin a member of the Tenor Line. The two were then roommates for the following two years -- and that's when all the magic happened.
During high school, Justin acquired some amateur recording equipment and began making tracks with his band, Right On Red, a hobby he maintained into college. In May of 2009, Justin was messing around with a recording when Michael became interested and started asking how it all worked. Justin then asked whether Michael would like to record something just for fun - Michael sheepishly obliged. On a whim, they decided to upload the video to YouTube to show their friends. Fortunately, they forgot about everyone else who could see it. The rest is history. The unending and bolsterous support of those who enjoy them some Michael Henry & Justin Robinett have allowed them to keep doing what they love to do.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all of your support. Keep listenin."
